Guide for Authors
The manuscript has to be submitted to the editorial staff of JTIE in a full and anonymous form. The full form of the manuscript is an article in a form that will be used for publishing. The anonymous form has to be fully identical to the full form, however, with the following differences:
- the name(s) of the author(s) and the name of the university, including all the contact information must be removed,
- the links in the text should not help to identify the author,
- all metadata of the file should be deleted,
- the file should be called “anonymous”.
The manuscripts should be sent only in the format of MS Word. Use the following template for the formatting.
Recommended structure of the manuscript:
- Name of the article (in English) – the name should be appropriate and it should include the issue solved within the article.
- Abstract (in English) – the issue should be here very briefly included as well as the methods used and achieved results.
- Key words (in English) – from three to five key words.
- Name of the article (in the language of the contribution itself) – the name should be appropriate and it should include the issue solved within the article.
- Abstract (in the language of the contribution itself) – the issue should be here very briefly included as well as the methods used and achieved results.
- Key words (in the language of the contribution itself) – from three to five key words.
- Methods used
- Process and the results of solving the issue (can be classified in more chapters)
The research article is based on theory and brings new knowledge based on the empiric research itself. It enriches the existing theory, compares the findings with the other researches of a similar topic, and it comes back to the theory and discusses the results.
The theoretical study solves the stated issue and it can have an analytical-synthetic nature where the author summarizes the existing knowledge complexly (including the findings from abroad), performs their analysis, comparison, systematization, and then concludes general conclusions at the abstract level.
The review with the extent of at least 1 page critically analyses the publications important for the field. It does not only indicate positives and imperfections, it also discusses the published content and states recommendations; however, it also, in a lesser extent, comparatively interprets other publications of a similar nature, while evaluating conclusions are presented.
The condition of each article is an international context; therefore, the international literature should be included as well. Bibliographic citation of documents should be done according to the APA standards. Do not use footnotes within the article.
The publishing of the article is charged and the authors are not paid royalty. The editorial staff reserves the right to refuse the manuscript for publishing. Author bears the responsibility for the originality of the manuscript – it cannot be at least 1 year published in any other journal or proceedings from a conference. All articles are reviewed by at least two anonymous reviewers. The author is responsible for the accuracy of the content. There are no language corrections made by the editorial staff.
When the article is submitted in English, its author has to submit the certification of a language correction done by a native speaker (proof reading). Otherwise, the manuscripts will not be accepted for the assessment. You can use any agency, e.g.:
The manuscripts have to be inserted via the information system JTIE.
The editorial staff will not accept manuscripts that:
- do not correspond to the stated requirements,
- were assessed negatively by the reviewers,
- are not in accordance with the focus of the journal.
- the articles are continuously accepted by the editorial staff.
JTIE is a journal with a strict reviewing procedure in both-sided anonymous regime (double-blind peer review). The editorial staff consider the reviewing procedure a crucial condition of the quality of a journal, and it sets up the conditions in order to be objective, factual and quick. The aim is to contribute to the increase of level of the published articles.
Every manuscript, except for the reviews, messages, medallions and some other less important communication, is submitted to at least two reviewers for its assessment. The authors and reviewers stay anonymous to each other. For the manuscript evaluation, the editor in chief selects specialists for the given issue. They are elected in order to ensure that they are not linked to the author personally, institutionally or by their work. The reviewers work out their review with the use of a standardized form available online in the editorial system.
Regarding the reviews of the reviewers, the editor in chief will let the author know whether the manuscript was accepted without any further editing, if it is required to be re-worked, or if it is refused. In case of the required re-working or refusing of the manuscripts, the most important imperfections are mentioned.
The reviewing process usually takes 6 weeks. The confirmation that the manuscript was accepted to be printed will be provided by the editorial staff only in the case when the acceptance of the manuscript with a positive result is discussed by the editorial board.
The editorial fee for the years 2015 and 2016 is 2,500 CZK for one published article (the fee may be also paid in Euros, in that case it is 92€). The manuscripts are accepted for the reviewing process for free and will be also evaluated for free. In case of positive reviews and acceptance by the editorial board, the author will be called to pay the editorial fee. After the payment, the article will be published in one of the next issues.
