About the Journal

JTIE is an independent scientific journal focused on publishing research results, theoretical studies and professional papers in the field of subject-specific didactics. Its structure fully covers subject-specific didactics of technical (engineering) subjects, didactics of informatics and digital technologies and, in a broader context, also didactics of natural sciences (chemistry, physics, geography, biology, ecology) including mathematics.
Within other subject-specific didactics (e.g. art education, history, music education, foreign languages or Czech language and literature), articles focused on the use of digital technologies (ICT) in education are published.

The journal is published twice a year. The manuscripts go through a strict review process (Double-Blind Peer Review). JTIE is an open access journal which means that all content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author. This is in accordance with the BOAI definition of open access.

The journal fully complies with the currently valid Methodology for the Evaluation of Research Organizations' Results (Methodology 17+) in category J (reviewed scientific article). Published texts are therefore classified as so-called scored articles. Each contribution is assigned a unique DOI identifier. The journal is indexed in the international ERIH PLUS database, registered by the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic under number E 18729.
